Kindle eBook lending is here!

We've always been able to share Kindle books with other people sharing the same Amazon account, but now you can share a Kindle book with other friends AND those without Kindles!

Kindle lending rules

  • Not all books are lendable -- it is up to the publisher or rights holder to determine which titles are eligible for lending. In other words, don't blame the seller Amazon if a book doesn't have this feature enabled.

  • The borrower does not need to own a Kindle -- Kindle books can also be read using our free Kindle reading applications for PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android devices.
  • Eligible Kindle books can be loaned once for a period of 14 days, and the loan period starts when the borrower downloads it.
  • Just like a regular book, if you lend a book to a friend, you won't have access to it and cannot read it during that time.
  • You can only lend a book one time.

Look in product details to see if lending is enabled
by the publisher

Go to your Manage Your Kindle page, located the book
to find the Loan the Book button.
You can also loan it out from the product sale page

For more How to's visit the Lending Kindle Books page.
